How does competition work?
Cheer competition is progressive from local (PYFCL) to regional to the national level. In order to advance to the next level, a team must earn 1st or 2nd place in their division. Teams who do not have competitors in their division must earn a minimum score. There is no “automatic advance”. Teams must perform their 2 ½ minute routine at their best. No second chances.
When is competition?
Local Competition is typically the last Sunday of October. Regional Competition is typically the Friday following Thanksgiving. Locations vary year to year. Travel is usually required. Teams travel on Thanksgiving. National competition is held in Florida. It is usually the second week of December
